“UN world Day of remembrance for Road Traffic victims” attended by Brahma Kumaris, Railway New Colony, Visakhapatnam in association with Transport and Travel Wing.
Date: 18th November 2018: On the occasion of WDR 2018, the Transport & Travel Wing (TTW) of Brahma Kumaris Visakhapatnam, organised a big peace walk(rally) and paid their special tributes by peace meditation to numerous innocent lives who lost their lives or injured during road accidents and public awareness program on Road safety.
Visakhapatnam Traffic ACP Sri K Prabhakar has appealed the public on roads to reduce the accident count by being cautious, having calm mind and follow traffic rules. He has done flag off to the peace walk done by about 150 BK Brothers, BK Sisters, local school children with slogans, placards, banners, pamphlets, Road Traffic & safety alerts through the public streets and main traffic junctions of local Visakhapatnam city.
As a part of peace walk, a public awareness program on road safety has been conducted by Rajyogini Sister BK Sasikala who revealed the statistical reviews on death toll and injured in road accidents at local and world wide levels. Near Viskhapatnam Railway Station junction, she took pledge from the public over there, to follow the traffic rules, safety measures and thus restrict road accidents by individual change. Dilip Pathro, who was seriously injured when a two wheeler dashed him which made his spine disabled, recovered and only able to move with wheel chair after 12 years shared his eye-opening experience to limit speed and be alert on roads.
Railway station Director Sri Raja Gopal realized the importance of the program complimented and the initiation taken by TTW, Brahma Kumaris for giving tribute to the road victims and also road safety awareness campaign.
About 500 members acquired inspirations given by BKs during the event

Brahma Kumaris TTW Vizag – Seminar on Safety through Spirituality, at the HPCL- VISAKHAPATNAM LPG GAS refinery
On this occasion, Brother BK Ramesh under the guidance of Rajyogini Sister BK Sasikala, from the Transport and Travel Wing, BRAHMAKUMARIS, Railway New colony centre have conducted a seminar for the driving professionals.
The Sri Srinivas Rao, Sr Manager(Operations) has praised the truck drivers for their uninterrupted and dedicated services for the LPG operations even during the COVID lockdown period, advised to follow safety measures at all levels. He complimented Brahma Kumaris for supporting them to create positive mindset for all in their respective duties.
Bro BK Ramesh took an hour and a half seminar with meditation experiences to all the participants. He explained in a very simple way on the theme of Safety through Sprituality , “for drivers, safety is first, then driving skills with awareness, peaceful and cool mindsets too. Waste thoughts and bad habits makes an individual faulty decisions and hence bad driving skills too, prone to accidents on road. So, drivers should adopt spiritual values and practice meditation, so that they can make their mindsets cool and always be relaxed in their respective duties.”.
Venue, Event and participants: As a part of Road Safety Week, the HPCL- VISAKHAPATNAM LPG GAS refinery/ Terminal, behind Visakhapatnam Airport is conducting Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha (Road Safety Week) from Jan 11th to 17th Jan 2020 to create awareness on Road safety among the Contract Gas tanker drivers. A session on “Safety through spiritual Skills” with meditation was conducted by the management of the HPCL gas filling centre.

Brahma Kumaris Cycle rally cum campaign for Swatch Mann – Swatch Bharat – Swarnim Bharat -day 1/10-flag-off ceremony
- Swach Mann – Swach Bharath – Swarnim Bharath:Objective is to create awareness among the people on how to clean their minds and make it powerful. With Clean Mind we can be more happier, healthier & productive in our life. Awareness campaigns focusing on the youth, employees etc. of various organisations.

Why Cycle rally: Awareness on “Choosing cycling for the rally” is as it makes body fit, eco friendly, pollution free, safe roads ,cost effective and saving valuable resources like petrol, diesel, water is important for sustainable eco system. Duration of Rally: about 11 days.
Distance of travel: about 250 kms to 10 different place in and around Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh Estimated day travel : about 30 kms/ per day.
Flag off ceremony at Rajyoga meditation centre, Railway New Colony by Sis BK Sasikala, Incharge of the local Brahma Kumaris centre for Cycle Rally by Bro. BK Nageswara Rao. Accompanied by another brother BK Ramesh, reached Kurmannapalem(about 25 Kms) BK Centre. From there went to DAV Public school, 3rd Sector, Ukkunagaram and given message to about 100 children, Jagannadha temple and distributed spiritual message awareness phamplets and given a short talk in public, accumulated residents of Sardhaar nest near Steel plant and given a seminar or stress free life.
