Public awareness program on Alcoholics anonymous” attended by Brahma Kumaris, Railway New Colony, Visakhapatnam

Dr Padmavathi psychiatrist explained in detailed the causes of addiction due to alcoholism, how it effects physically, mentally, financially, spiritually of an individual.

MVP police Department Circle Inspector says “charity begins at home; family members should take active participation for the recovery of alcoholic addicts, by giving support and care to the recovered. Youth should be free from alcoholism.”

Rajyogini Sister BK Sasikala from Brahma Kumaris, Railway New Colony said “Self realization is the key for change.  Individuals responsibility is there to bring the change rather than force of someone else. Self change is the part of worldly change.

She Added “We need to provide pure, healthy and sathvik diet to our body as this body is compared to a mandir(temple) and we are shrines(murthi) living in  it.   We should make ourselves worship worthy by our deeds not hated by members of family and others in the society.”

She told “This body is very expensive as revealed by American Doctors to about 250 crores.  The kind of food which we need to intake to this expensive body should be of good quality and nice food rather not alcohol, drug abusive or any other additive foods.

We should indulge more time in individual and social services as an interest of helping others can be an intoxication that will give no thoughts to think about alcohol abuse.”

Sister BK Sasikala has briefed the process of self meditation.  In this context she said “meditation is the process of getting connected by our inner self with the Higher Consciousness.  The blissful intoxication obtained through this meditation will not let any physical addictions to relapse”. She appealed to “practice Rajayoga meditation to master our own self and obtain inner joy hence eternal peace.” Later on she took the audience to the supreme intoxication through her guided meditation experience.

“UN world Day of remembrance for Road Traffic victims” attended by Brahma Kumaris, Railway New Colony, Visakhapatnam in association with Transport and Travel Wing.

Date: 18th November 2018:  On the occasion of WDR 2018, the Transport & Travel Wing (TTW) of Brahma Kumaris Visakhapatnam, organised a big peace walk(rally) and paid their special tributes by peace meditation to numerous innocent lives who lost their lives or injured during road accidents and public awareness program on Road safety.

Visakhapatnam Traffic ACP Sri K Prabhakar has appealed the public on roads to reduce the accident count by being cautious, having calm mind and follow traffic rules. He has done flag off to the peace walk done by about 150 BK Brothers, BK Sisters, local school children with slogans, placards, banners, pamphlets, Road Traffic & safety alerts through the public streets and main traffic junctions of local Visakhapatnam city.

As a part of peace walk, a public awareness program on road safety has been conducted by Rajyogini Sister BK Sasikala who revealed the statistical reviews on death toll and injured in road accidents at local and world wide levels. Near Viskhapatnam Railway Station junction, she took pledge from the public over there, to follow the traffic rules, safety measures and thus restrict road accidents by individual change. Dilip Pathro, who was seriously injured when a two wheeler dashed him which made his spine disabled, recovered and only able to move with wheel chair after 12 years shared his eye-opening experience to limit speed and be alert on roads.

Railway station Director Sri Raja Gopal realized the importance of the program complimented and the initiation taken by TTW, Brahma Kumaris for giving tribute to the road victims and also road safety awareness campaign.

About 500 members acquired inspirations given by BKs during the event

Program event in summary:

Youth wing of RE&RF, sister organization of Brahma Kumaris started a National wide campaign on 13th August 2017 from Ahmadabad covering 8 states entered Andhra Pradesh and reached Visakhapatnam District on 17th August 2018 and Ukkunagaram on 18th August 2018. It is an All India Youth exhibition Bus Campaign to create awareness and awaken youth with the topics related to cleanliness, positivity, yoga & meditation and take it to the masses of India for sharpening young minds. As a part of this campaign the youth rally bus visited the premises of Kendriya Vidyalaya school, Sector 1, Ukkunagaram to conduct awareness meeting and pass the message on the theme to various students of Steel plant schools.

Kendriya Vidyalaya School children has chained themselves to welcome the All India Youth Bus Yatra bus. CMD of RINL, Sri Rai Choudury has welcomed all the yatris of the bus with floral bokays and presented shawl and memento to the yatri leader Sister BK Anitha and Yatra manager Sister BK Dr Pavan.

Along with CMD Sri. Rai Chowdury of RINL,Ukkunagaram and Vice principal Smt Sujatha of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ukkunagaram has decorated the bus and Car with Floral garlands.

About 200 students acquired inspirations given by BK yatris of the Bus.

Chief guest speech: Honorable Chief Managing Director, RINL, Ukkunagaram Sri Rai Chowdary described in a country like Bharat where there is union of various cultures and traditions, complimented that Brahma Kumaris are giving very good inspirations to vast youth directing them in a good path with this Youth Bus Yatra.

Yatri leader Sister BK Anitha and Yatra manager Brother BK Dr Pavan shared the theme of the mission Youth Bus yatra and their experiences to the School Children.

On this context the yatris along with the bus has campaigned schools awareness cum exhibition of Bus at Steel Plant. They were taught causing awareness about Positive thinking, Cleanliness, Character building through Rajyoga meditation and services of Brahma Kumaris at various schools of the Plant sectors, namely, Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Sector 1, De Paul School, Sector 9, DAVC Public School, Sector 3, Samsruthi Global school, Desapatrunipalem covering about 800 students by conducting Exhibitions through specially designed Exhibition bus on the themes of Swatch Bharath, Spiritual Values and character building, Yoga and positivity.

Speakers Sister BK Jyothi, Sister BK Anitha, Brother BK Pavan, Brother BK Venkat and others bus yatris has delivered lectures at their school campus about the theme concepts.

The students were ask to take an oath to follow the righteous path and sloganed “mera bharat – Swarnim Bharat”

At the end of their speeches the speakers drew the attention of all the students by taking them into a different world of intoxication by the path of Rajyoga meditation.

Along with CMD Sri. Rai Chowdury of RINL,Ukkunagaram and Vice principal Smt Sujatha of Kendriya Vidyalaya school, Ukkunagaram has done bus flag off and departed the bus to the next destination by the youth bus campaign.

Sri D. SriHari Raju, CI of Police, Vizianagaram revealed that WHO has
recognised Alcoholism as 3rd most dangerous diseases of the world.  He
says “Any habit it should be under our control rather we under its
control or any others. God has given us will power, which we need to
apply for controlling of our habits”.

Sri Dr Prashant Ampalam, psychiatrist, Vizianagram explained how
alcoholism starts, what are the symptoms for addiction, how it affects
their family life, social, economic status in the society. He says
“Human beings are social beings where we need to be in the society,
follow the rules for happy living, and don’t disturb the harmony with
unwanted and bad habits”

Sri Srinivas Rao, Advocate and President of Advocate Bar Association,
Vizianagaram District said God have given us Wisdom which we need to
use,  whenever we have choose wrong path. The percentage of drunk and
drive accidents and victims in the accidents are growing irrespective
of the alerts, warnings, fines or punishments and Govt. policies.
Govt. has designed some policies which everyone has to bind for it.”

Councilor, Ayyannapeta Village, Vizianagaram District Sri S Trinadha
Rao has proudly displayed about 10 villagers who got rehabilitated due
to the counseling and meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous group. He
appealed that the change should be viral affecting and changing many
other alcoholic addicts into de-addicted village.

Few women and men have given inspirations and expressed their family
member’s journey in the recovery from alcohol addiction with lots of
grief and happiness for the change.  They expressed special thanks to
the A A Group for bringing light in their families.

Chief Guest Rajyogini Sister BK Sasikala, says “The intoxication of service to humanity is much more powerful tonic than any other temporary intoxicants. Bharat was once termed as a Golden sparrow of
the world, where deities of heaven used to rule this world with values and habit free.  With spirituality and practice of daily meditation,
we can empower ourselves and get rid of any kind of bad habits.  We can become intoxicated by the divine virtues and values, and thus avoid addiction lapsing.  Andhra Govt. is making policies to make thestate “SwarnAndhra Pradesh.  Each one has to develop determination and will power to change. Change within brings the change in Bharat asSwarnim Bharat” She added.

Visakhapatnam “All India Youth Bus Yatra Campaign

The all India Youth Bus Campaign exhibition is to create awareness and awaken youth with the topics related to cleanliness, positivity, yoga & meditation and take it to the masses of India for sharpening young minds. As a part of this campaign the youth rally bus visited the premises of Divisional Railway Manager office, East Coast Railways, Waltair Division to conduct awareness meeting and pass the message on the theme to wide range of people at office.

About 70 Kendriya Vidyalaya had chained them selves to welcome the All India Youth Bus Yatra bus at the DRM Office.

ADRM welcomed with potted flowers and presented memento and shawl to the yatri leader Sister BK Anitha and Yatra manager Sister BK Dr Pavan.

About 70 Officers/ Management staff and employees benefited the lecture rendered by BK Bus yatris.

Chief guest speech: Honarable Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of East Coast Railways Sri Mukul Sharan Matore assured to restore the values in Bharat, with this kind of Bus Yatra, they will definitely inspire millions of youth to follow right path of living. He expressed that it is everyone’s responsibility to bring a great change with self change and liked the beautiful slogan “mera Bharat – Swarnim Bharat”

Honorable Additional Divisional Railway Manager(ADRM) for Waltair division Sri Kuna Dhanunjaya Rao has complimented for the social awareness campaign by Brahma Kumaris in uplifting the values among the youth, by not only physical fitness but also achieve mental fitness with positive thinking. He expressed the concept of “Hum Fit tho Bharat Fit” as a great concept.
